Tour Highlights

Here is a small selection of tours that we recommend. Equipped with a good map, you can easily accomplish these tours:

Our favorite route. Leisurely ride up to the Rosenalm - you can also take the Zillertal Arena's gondola ;-) - then head over the Kreuzwiesenalm towards Innerertens - at the junction, take the Biketrail 2000 - Gerlos Gmünd - speedy descent via the Gerlospass Straße. Duration depends on if you head up via bike or gondola, easy to intermediate, 2 - 4 hrs., and 350 - 1550 vertical meters; technically easy, gorgeous scenery

Our weekly challenge for the thighs leads up to the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse with an up to 19% gradient - at the sharp bend, go straight towards the Stifterhof with a magnificent view of Zell am Ziller - at the Stifterhof take a sharp right on the supply road to "Theresas Zellberghütte" - here, you can enjoy refreshments before you continue to the Aschau ascent on the Zillertaler Höhenstrasse - take the connecting path towards the Hirschbichlalm - descent via the Zellberger Höhenstrasse

Duration ca. 3 hrs. on bike (and 2 hrs. at the refreshment station), intermediate difficulty level with a steep 1030 vertical meters, beautiful views of the upper Zillertal with the Ahornspitze and Dristner as well as the Gerlostal

Very steep trail past the Maria Rast pilgrimage church to the Hainzenberg - forest path to Gasthaus Gerlosstein (1630m) - continue to Gasthaus Kotahorn (1680m) - from here, take forest path #8 almost down to Zell with some passages blocked with overgrown roots for experts

Duration2-3 hrs., intermediate difficulty level, easy technicality level on the ride back on gravel, intermediate difficulty on the trail (S2-S3), beautiful view of the lower Zillertal and the foothills of the Tux Alps

For experts: several variations to Uderns - from Kleinboden via the Finsingberg on the forest road on the southern slope of the valley to Hochfügen - continue to the toboggan run and to the turn-off at the Rastkogel - here, a steep supply road and the last 200 vertical meters lead to the Sidanjoch (you have to carry your bike) - from the Sidanjoch, you can take the trail to the Rastkogelhütte and return to the THERESA via the Sidanalm and the Schwendberger Höhenstrasse.

Technically and physically difficulty tour in parts with ca. 1600 vertical meters, rewarding view from the Sidanjoch and Rastkogelhütte, duration ca. 4.5 hrs.
