The Ziller Valley
Is the widest Tyrolean valley south of the River Inn. It´s about 1,000 sq km in area. The valley's some 30,000 inhabitants are spread amongst 25 villages.
Unlike other Tyrolean valleys, the Zillertal doesn´t undergo any major, sharp topographical changes, instead rising gradually from an elevation of 522 metres in Strass, to 628 m in Mayrhofen over a span of 32 kilometres. This makes it the ideal base for vacationers to relax, unwind, but still be within easy reach of our breathtaking mountains.
